Sikuma is a filmmaker based in NYC, USA, and Lalitpur, Nepal. She started her career in media as a multimedia journalist at Nepali Times and The Kathmandu Post, which eventually paved the way for her to become a documentary filmmaker.

In 2020, Sikuma created her short documentary "Come Over for a Drink, Kanchhi" which was nominated at the One World Media Awards 2021 and was screened at the 49th Annual Conference on South Asia at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, including various national and international film festivals.

Sikuma worked as a costume designer in a Nepali feature "A Road to a Village", which premiered at Toronto International Film Festival, Busan International Film Festival, and MAMI Mumbai International Film Festival in 2023.

Sikuma sees filmmaking as a way to enrich her life with varied perspectives on social relationships, and confrontation with the realities around her. Besides directing and editing her own films, she collaborates with other artists as an on-location sound recordist and picture editor.

As of August 2024, Sikuma is editing her second short "The Sound of My Feeling" and developing her first hybrid documentary "The Tales of Maruni", inspired by the works of Saodat Ismailova, Payal Kapadia, and Rea Tajiri.
